Tempo respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your data is handled when using the Tempo iOS app (“Tempo”).
Tempo is a client for your own self-hosted Tempo server. The developer does not operate a central Tempo cloud that collects your workouts or account data.
When you sign in, Tempo connects to the Tempo server URL you configure. Credentials, workouts, media, settings, and related account data are sent only to that server and are stored under your control.
The Tempo app developer does not collect, store, sell, or share that data. How long it is retained, who can access it, and how it is secured depend on how you (or your server administrator) run your Tempo instance.
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Tempo may request read access to HealthKit data needed to import running workouts, including:
Workouts and workout routes
Heart rate
Distance and active energy
Running cadence and running power (when available)
Tempo uses this data only to let you review and import runs into your self-hosted Tempo server. Tempo does not write data back to Apple Health.
HealthKit data is not used for advertising, marketing, or sale to data brokers. You can disconnect Apple Health in the app and revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.
Background delivery (when enabled) may allow Tempo to detect new runs while the app is not open and notify you that a run is ready to review. Imports still require your action; Tempo does not silently import HealthKit workouts without review.
Tempo may store limited data on your device to operate the app, such as:
Your configured server URL and session/auth state (including secure Keychain storage)
Local caches of recent workouts or settings
HealthKit sync state (for example, which runs you have ignored or already reviewed)
You can remove local data by signing out, disconnecting Apple Health, clearing ignore lists where available, or deleting the app.
If you add photos or videos to a workout, Tempo accesses your photo library only to attach media you select, and uploads that media to your self-hosted Tempo server.
Tempo does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs to process your personal data.
Tempo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If this Privacy Policy is updated, the Last Updated date will change and the latest version will be available with the App Store listing (and anywhere else it is published).
